A Day in the Life of Alchemy Pay’s Creative Director Russ Fischer
Alchemy Pay’s Creative Director, Russ Fischer, is the man behind Alchemy Pay’s dazzling new limited edition Token of Love Valentine’s NFTs. He took time out to talk to us about his role at Alchemy Pay and his recent collaboration with the Olympic Committee on this year’s Beijing Winter Olympics.
Russ came to Alchemy Pay after designing campaigns for the likes of Armani, Gucci, Samsung, Toyota, and TAGHeuer. Russ, who was born in Kazakhstan and has lived and worked all over the world has won an impressive 12 international design awards.
Can you give a brief introduction about yourself?
RF: In short, I’m a total design geek. I love to constantly learn new things about design and the awards I’ve won over the years are an indicator of this. Yeah, I stay inside working a lot and I don’t like bright light 😉
How did you get the opportunity to design for the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022?
RF: I worked for one of the largest design companies in China, Dongdao, whose clients are mostly state-owned companies and large firms. At the time I worked there as chief designer, the company was involved in the development of corporate identity for the Beijing Winter Olympics.
What was your contribution to the project?
RF: My part was branding for the Olympics Committee, the Olympics exhibition, the main gates, commemorative badges and many other aspects of branding. I was working closely with my boss at the time, who was leading the project.
Can we see some examples of the work you did for the Olympics?
RF: Yes of course, you can see them all at: http://fd23.net/page8.html
Tell us about the stunning new NFTs you’ve designed?
RF: Yes I think these have turned out so well, I’m really excited about them. They are revolving gold coins designed specially to tie in with Alchemy Pay’s Valentine’s Day billboards that are appearing in Times Square in New York and across Paris, London, and Tokyo. I wanted to create something timeless and classic that also had a sense of romance. I think our community is going to love them! There are only 20 being minted so they are pretty precious.
What does a day in the life of Alchemy Pay look like?
RF: I usually wake up very early every morning to take my son to school. Then I come back, make coffee and listen to music. I head to work on my Ducati motorcycle (I love it). Upon arrival at work, we are greeted every day with our favourite coffee. After my morning routine is over, I go to my workplace and get ready for my daily tasks. Really, how the day unfolds depends on what we are working on at the time and who is in the office. We always bounce ideas around. Working in the ACH family is a great pleasure, there are no barriers to creativity and having fun!
What do you love about working at Alchemy Pay?
RF: You know, in my experience in design, I have worked in different companies from small to large, and I have come across different attitudes to work. But the Alchemy Pay team, it’s a real team. It’s not just a company, it’s a family. At Alchemy Pay everyone does their job professionally and does what they are excellent at. If you are an expert in your field, then a teammate will listen to you and is open to ideas. Everyone does their job excellently.
Another big plus is my boss. I love to talk and discuss things with him with freedom and without pressure! During my time here, I have learned a lot from him and from my teammates. Thank you ACH team — onwards and upwards ACH!
When and why did you decide to join Alchemy Pay?
RF: I joined this wonderful team exactly 6 months ago. I decided to join because, as I mentioned earlier, I like to challenge myself with new things, and I liked the idea of venturing into this unique world of crypto. Because this field is so new it provides so many new opportunities in terms of design. Crypto has already grown massively but it’s still only the beginning!
